Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

If I used my house as collateral to post my bail and I went to court and bail was exanerated, and after that was unable to pay the balance to bondsman are they legally allowed to fourclose on my property? Or is there something that could of been done?

Any sort of collateral is at risk of being foreclosed upon if the underlying loan is not repaid.
