Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California
My husband has a small cafe and catering business. It's in his name only. It is not providing any income for our household. I have run up my credit cards to help him out. Now, he is taking on a partner who says she can get a SBA loan for up to $100,000. If the business fails, and they default on the loan, will I be liable?

Yes because California is a community property state and the debt could would be a community debt. Most likely the SBA will go after your husband and his partner only but you could be named in the lawsuit.
