Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California
Insufficient Funds
A postsecondary school that i was attending closed. I was receiving a tuiton check that does not have enough funds for me to cash it. The school is possibly filing for bankruptcy and i am stuck with a check that i can't cash. This has put my finances in a tail spin. Can i sue the signer of the check in small claims court plus damages that i have incurred for a bad check? How do i look up the officers names and info of the incorporation and personal info so that i can serve the proper people with out playing cat and mouse of them hiding behind the corporate veil?

Re: Insufficient Funds
you are better off filing a complaint with the state labor commissioner.
