Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

insurance subrogation

recently--name removed--lawsuit was filed against me for--name removed--sum of money that seems very high related to--name removed--rear-ender I was involved in and for which I was uninsured. the collection agency harassed me for months on end and would not accept--name removed--settlement. now, the law firm that represents it wants to put--name removed--judgment on the property I no longer own but is owned by my family. do I have any rights, since I tried to settle the matter in light of my very difficult financial situation???????

Re: insurance subrogation

You may not want to hear this, but get a lawyer--it'll cost you some money, but it sounds like the property transfer could be undone if you don't do anything to fight it. It's better to negotiate this now than ignore it.
