Invalid DMV registration transfer/new owner accident
I sold & transferred ownership of El Camino to my brother, sent in appropriate DMV papers. He was in an accident and registration came up in my name. He was not cited. 2-3yrs later I am beng sued for the cost of the other vehicle that was ''at fault''.

This not an uncommon occurrance. If you have all your documentation in order, I sugeest you get supporting documentation from the DMV stating who the owner of the vehicle is and when the transfer of ownership took place. Present your proof to the other side and have them dismiss the case against you. If you have not received any help on this matter, you are welcome to contact me to further discuss.
Thank you for your inquiry-Martin.
Re: Invalid DMV registration transfer/new owner accident
You are probably being sued for Subrogation. That has a 3 year statute of limitations. If you fax me your lawsuit and proof that the other vehicle was a fault to 714 363 0229, I would be happy to provide you with free consultation. If you fail to answer the complaint, a default could be entered against you and your wages may be garnished.
