Job not done - refuse to pay

I contracted Sears to do a cabinet refacing job. I was promised by the sales rep that the cabinets would look like regular cabinets. They don't, so the job is not finished (aside from structural damage done by Sears that is not fixed yet). I feel I was pressured to sign the Satisfaction certificate by the male installer. There are several items Sears has not fixed and this has been going on for over 4 months now. We have called at least twice a week to Sears since September to get the items disputed fixed. An installer has been out to ''fix'' the items about every other week. Last installer, made the cabinets worse by doing structural damage with a router to them.

My husband and I are first thinking of hiring a lawyer. And second letting the charge of $12579 go to collections because the job is not done. What would be my best route of action?

Proactive, that is, you going after them, may be a better approach. I would send a formal attorney demand letter. The satisfaction document being signed is an issue but it may be able to be explained.
