Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California
I got a judgement against me for a specified amount from a debt collector, had I known how to respond to the summons I could haved proven it was past the SOL and when his letter comes in the mail there is an additional 236 dollars added to it, can more then the judgemnet amount be charged?

Not knowing how to respond isn't an excuse for blowing off a summons. That's what lawyers are for. You could have called one. I would have gladly defended your case for a very small fee. Maybe there is still something that can be done.
