Judgement of Default
I have a Judgement against me in the State of California, if I move to a different state would this still apply?

Re: Judgement of Default
The judgment creditor can take the CA judgment, bring it to a court in your new state, and petition that court for a sister state judgment. Then you would be allowed a certain period to contest it on very limited grounds. Then it would become a judgment against you enforceable in that state. You might want to talk to a bankruptcy lawyer if the judgment is substantial.
