Judgement for the defendant

I was the defendant in a civil case and the judge said judgment for the defendant, what does that mean?

The case is over, and you won. Congratulations!

Re: Judgement for the defendant

It probably means that you won. You have a very short period to submit to the court and serve on the plaintiff your memorandum of costs -- so that you can get back your filing fees and any other allowable costs. Feel free to e-mail me directly your case number, name, and the court in which it was filed. I'd be happy to try to look up your case, if available, and give you my interpretation of what occurred.
