Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Judgement in our favor yet creditor wont remove from credit report

I want to know what step do i have to take to force a creditor to remove their mark on our credit.

We went to court on this because they sued us for this. The judgement was in our favor and we won but I continue to pay higher interest and cannot obtain a loan on my home for some repair/remodeling work because of this creditor/and collection agency. They have stated they will remove it but it has been several months and still it impedes any loans for this one and only mark! please advise...thank you.

Have you disputed the item with the credit reporting agency and has it been reverified? If you don't know what I'm talking about, you need to google the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). You could get a certified copy of the judgment from the court and send it to the credit reporting agency. Or you could pay me $50 to write a letter on my letterhead to the creditor and maybe that will make it go away. You need to stop saying things like "they have stated." This implies you are calling people on the phone and getting worthless verbal promises when you should be writing letters, certified mail return receipt requested, and keeping copies. If you -have- been writing certified letters and keeping copies, you may have the right to sue the creditor for defamation.
