Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California
Judgement
I received judgement papers today. I don't understand what it is I need to do if I cannot pay the amount owed. Can I still try to make payment arrangements and how do I do that now?

Re: Judgement
You could call the plaintiff's lawyer and try to work out a payment plan (get it in writing), you can file a motion to set aside the default judgment and default if you knew nothing about the lawsuit and weren't served with documents or, if you qualify, you could file for bankruptcy protection.
