Within 10 years, the judgment should be renewed. We can help you if you need assistance. Please call us.
Re: Judgements
Judgments in California are good for 10 years, but can be renewed for another 10 years if you file the proper motion within the original 10-year period. You can also file subsequent renewal motions if necessary. Your judgment also earns interest at the rate of 10% per year. If you need assistanct collecting your judgment, I might be able to help.
Re: Judgements
There is no "time limit" per se, but you must renew the judgment at least once every ten years in order for it to be enforceable. You can certainly renew it sooner than that, and you should - because upon renewal, you earn interest on top of interest.
Your judgment is earning interest of 10% per year. At this point, the judgment is worth nearly twice its face amount. Upon renewal, you begin to earn 10% interest on the renewed judgment amount.
If you need help collecting, please call or email. We are judgment enforcement attorneys, and we have access to a variety of non-public information which often helps us collect judgments that otherwise might be uncollectible.
Good luck.
