keeping of personal possesion without permission

i accidently fed ex'd a check to the wrong company, however, this company is doing business with a client of ours. they informed me they had the check and would fed ex it to me over night. three days later i had not received the check. i called and was angry, iwas very angry. they in turn figured out the relation to my company and their company. i received a phone call the s'morning from the company who has my check stating that they knew who i worked for and would not send the check to me because i was so mean. i don't knowd what to do. please help me out.
