Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California
in la county if you opened a credit card in 2007 and it went into collection and charged off then was purchased by a collection agency in 2010, does it fall under the four year statue of limitations if the collection company is just now sueing to collect for the debt five years aftr the card was opened??

Doesn't matter when it was opened. What matters is the last voluntary transaction on the account by you - either the last charge or the last payment - or the first missed payment, whichever is latest.
