Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Late fees assessed due to neglegance.

I have a particular credit card that continuously charges me a 35 dollar late fee every month. When i recieve my bill it shows that they recieved payment a day or two after it is due. I send the payment uasually 7-10 days prior to the due date. I am only mailing the payment approx 50 miles from my home. I recienty sent this payment ''certified'' and found it took less than 24 hours for it to be delivered. I've called and complained to have the late fees reversed, the first one they did, but the next four they refused. They also told me on the phone it was illegal for them to not process the payment the day it is delivered. What is this law so I can try and get all those fees reversed?

Re: Late fees assessed due to neglegance.

If you can't get a lawyer to help, you could try filing a written complaint with the Office of Comptroller of the Currency (occ.gov).
