Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California
A law firm is harassing me to pay a debt, I do owe the debt, but they are trying to get me to pay a lot more than what was owed, I am sure of the interest charges, but I don't feel that it could be 3000.00 in fees, is this a scam, they threatened that they are going to garnish my wages right away.....Is this legal, and if so, do I have the right to sue them?

It's not necessarily a scam, but debt collection is a ruthless take-no-prisoners game that affects millions. Unfortunately, harassment is not a unique element.
