Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

laws about car repo's

i bought a car in Ca. when i was self employed. I am now permantly disabled and way behind in payments. My question is Can I be charged with any crime if the finacing company cannot find me or the car? Like auto theft? And if they did find me and asked me to turn the car over would i have to or can i make them find it? Also can i be released from the debt since i am now disabled?

Thank you

Re: laws about car repo's

hiding the car and not paying the debt is not a crime. it is a civil matter that they can sue you for. the only way out of the debt is bankruptcy.
