Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California
What are my legal right when I have to appear in court , for judement in failure
I sold a car to a lady. After several weeks she returned it and informed that their was a leak in the engine, and that I had taken advantgage of her, as I knew about the leak. She informed that her mechanic had told her their wwas lead from from the engine.
So the car was returned to me. I told her I would reurn the money to her. How ever before I was able I lost my busines. So I have been to court two time, and this is the third judgemnt that was severed by the sheriff office.
I still haven't been able to come up with the $3k, but I will be able in about three weeks, as I now have a job as a commission financial officer.
But because I ahven't been able to keep my word, she feel I am trying to rip her off, which isn't the case, it has taken a great dela of time to secure employment, as her judgement showed up in my credit, and I have been turned down several time for a job as of result of this judement showing up.
What recourse do I have, I don't haven't any assets, no salary , only commisisions. Which is three to four weeks away from my being paid?
Please advise

You have several options, as I see it, as follows:
1. You can continue to negotiate with her. She has the power to temporarily suspend the collections process;
2. You can file bankruptcy, which may allow you to completely wipe out this liability; or
3. You can appeal the judgment, if you have the basis to do so.
