Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

legal requirements of disclosing indenpendent contractor statue

Am I required by law to respond to requests for information about a vendor. I continually get requests from credit agency's requesting personal information, address, amount earned, phone # etc. None of the persons requesting have ever sent a court order or release of information from the vendor. I would just like to know what if any I am required to release.

Thanks,

Not only do you have no requirement to disclose information about vendors, or anyone else, if you do be careful not to be negative, or you could get sued for defamation. The old expression, "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all." is very appropriate in your situation.
