Leins to collect a Debt

I would like some info on collecting a debt owed by a freind or family member. This person has refused to pay back a loan for over 2 years. They own a busisness and I would like to attach a lein against the busisness. What is that lein called and can I file the paperwork myself or am I required to have a lawyer to file this?

Re: Leins to collect a Debt

Prior to any type of lien or collection of the debt, you must first obtain a judgment. Therefore, you must file a complaint in court, and win the case. If it is over small claims court jurisdiction, you would be well served by obtaining representation. Please call me directly at (619) 222-3504.
