Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California
Lender has not reported a car purchase to credit bureaus, 2 years after car is p
Three years ago, I purchased a car from a buy here, pay here used car lot. My credit wasn't very good at the time, and he was the only one I could get to finance me.
I paid more than the monthly payment every month, was never late, and had the car paid off a year early.
I now have the title, and it has been two years since the car was paid off. However, this purchase still hasn't shown up on my credit report.
I have called the dealer and asked him to report it at least twenty times over the past two years, and every time he says he will, but doesn't. I'm now ready to purchase a new car, but I don't want to do this until the other purchase is on my credit report.
Is there anything I can do to force him to report me, or is it possible for me to report myself to the credit bureaus?
Thank you!

The simplest thing you can do is to give the dealer as a credit reference, there is no assurance that he will say what you would have him say, ( I don't get a good feeling from his lack of cooperation as you described, but this is a different thing he does not have to initiate any action)but if he is at all honest he will have to say you repaid the loan on the car in an extremely timely fashion.
