Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Levy of a bank account

I have recently had a levy placed on my bank account. The amount of funds in the bank at the time the levy was served on the bank IS NOT sufficient to satisify the judgement. Will that levy allow them to continue to take funds out of that account until the total amount of the judgement is paid?

Re: Levy of a bank account

The bank levy only applies to funds in the account at the moment the levy was served on the bank. However, they can serve another levy at any time. Therefore, you should consider moving you accounts to another bank or keeping the balance in this account low.
