Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California
I lived in Nevada when I received the credit card. I stopped paying for it when I retained a debt agency to resolve/settle the $2k balance. I presently live in CA and was served the Complaint. As I am indigent, how should I proceed and what are my defenses since I do not even know the CA firm that claim that they represent the bank? Any assistance is appreciated.

Your state of residence when you received the credit card is not relevant to the dispute. If you now live in CA, you can be sued there for any debt that you incurred while you lived elsewhere.
It is not possible to tell you how to respond to the complaint, as there is not enough information in your question. I would find a legal aid society near where you live, bring the complaint and other papers to them, and ask for assistance. It is simply not possible to give you competent advice in this forum, except to answer very general questions.
Best of luck to you.
