Lock & Key Shop

While I was on vacation my son had a key made to my car. He paid for it with a check stolen from me and that was not signed by me. My case was referred to a collection agency for non sufficient fund.

Isn't it illegal to make a key for a car without the consent of the legal owner? Am I responsible to pay this claim
