Did you incur the debt prior to the bankruptcy? If so, requesting payment is a violation of the discharge order and you should consult a local bankruptcy attorney about seeking the property remedy in bankruptcy court. If you incurred the debt after filing for bankruptcy, the statute of limitation probably expired 8 years ago or more and you should see an attorney who handles cases under federal and state fair debt collection laws. No matter how you look it, this appears to be an improper attempt to collect and debt and you likely have the right to sue the company asking for payment.
