Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

magazine subscription

I want to ask if a magazine service can sue me because of a breach of contract without any written documents but just a recorded conversation? I am currently unemployed and they keep on hassling me with phone calls asking to pay my bills. I ask them to cancel it but they said that it cannot be done because I agreed to their terms. Please help me because I'm just new here and I don't know that much about the law. Thanks.

Yes, that would be an oral contract and it is enforceable.
