marital debt responsibilty

If one party has a final divorce judgement to pay a certain debt that was a joint account and they file bankruptsy on that debt can the other party that the debt falls on sue to recover that debt if they have to pay it

The other party can't file a separate lawsuit. They will become a creditor in the bankruptcy proceeding and can only get the assets not protected by bankruptcy law, according to their priority. If you need a more personalized answer, contact my office.
