no medical insurance, car accident

had car accident. no medical insurance to cover hospital costs. and im unemployed since the accident. bombarded with bill collectors. i desperatley need some advice on weather to file bankruptcy, or what to do. im afraid, and worried about what to do. thank you.

You can negotiate and make payments to each of the parties you owe money to, or wait and defend a lawsuit, or file bankruptcy. Simplifying things a little bit, these are your three options.

A Chapter 7 bankruptcy will wipe out the debts upon an approved discharge, including your medical bills and any other debts related to your accident. A Chapter 7 bankruptcy is on your credit report for 10 years, and you can only file once every seven years.
