MN business wants to sue CA business in small claims

I am a mn business owner that wants to pursue legal action againest a company in los angeles county. It is under $5,000. Can an ca attorney represent me since i'm in mn?

A lawyer cannot appear for you in small claims court. A limited Superior court action has to be filed if a lawyer is to represent you. Please contact our office for fees and costs for filing such an action. 714 363 0220.

No. You need to either appear personally or file in Superior Court as a limited action. Do you have a written agreement calling for attorney fees. Could make a difference on your decision.

The contract issues presented here may obviate the need for litigation in CA. Do you have a choice of law/forum clause?

WHere was the contract formed?

Is there an arbitration clause?

It may be cost effective to pursue claim outside of CA court system.
