Mom had debt
My mother-n-law has so much debt first is there a good consolidation company that is legit that she could go to and second if she doesn't pay off her debt and something happens to her will we (her kids) have to pay it off??

In my experience, there is no such thing as a good consolidation company. Most of the ones have questionable and possibly illegal business practices. If your mother-in-law has that much debt, she should be a good bankruptcy attorney. The fees are generally cheaper and a chapter 7 case discharge should only take about 4 months.
