Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California
money out of account.
If a collection company takes money out of your account without your authorization, is it considered illegal? Even though they say in there computer system it was authorized, but you know that you haven't spoken to them?

Absolutely illegal. It would violate both state and federal law. Unauthorized debits from accounts by debt collectors are strong cases.

So how did they get your account info if you didn't give it to them? Now you have to change your acct #. Never give your bank info to a CA unless you want your account drained.
