Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

money owed to me from bails and credit cards

my ex-boyfriend owes me money from his bails and credit cards that my finacial burden has lead into collections for the past year. Is it possible to collect this debt. We've had a domestic violence case in which I was the victom and I've tried to work with his anger management problems for the past 3 years and our relationship his gone with it because he has gotten me into such a financial crisis that now, for the past year it has lead into collections. It has been so harsh to collect this money back emotionally and physically. Is it possible to settle this through court?

It is possible. You would have to prove that you lent him the money or he bought things and that these items were not gifts. If you can do that, you may win. However, does he have anything for you to collect from? He has to have assets or income for you to get anything. Just having a judgment doesn't help you.
