Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

money owed by ex

My ex girlfriend and I were set to move in together. I paid the entire deposit. After living there a few days (by herself) she broke the lease and moved out. I was able to reclaim part of the money from the landlord, she assured me that she would cover the rest, I have saved emails stating this. Going on 3 months later I have no confidence that she is going to follow through. What course of action should I take?

1. Thank God the remainder of the deposit is all this relationship is going to cost you.

2. Sue her in small claims court if you want.

3. Get on with your life.
