Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Money Recovery

I made a wrong electronic payment for my second mortgage to the institution involved. I immediately notified them of the wrong payment and that I want them to send me back the money and I sent them a correct payment later. After several attempts to ask them to send me my money, they refused to do so and credited the amount to my account. I did not want this amount credited to my account because the amount was intended for one of my credit card accounts. I wrote them a letter requesting for my money but they refuse to answer back. My question is how do I get back the money I sent them. I let them know that the money they received was not my regular payment. I did send the correct amount in good faith after I sent the wrong one. They told me at first that they will refund the money but later said they would not.
