Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

My mortgage compnay calls me on the 5th of the month looking for payment. I typically mail it on the 2nd or 3rd of the month, I've NEVER been late on a payment. When can they start calling? Is this harassment?

If you read your loan documents, your payment is due on the first. As such, any day after the first, they can begin their collections process. You have a fifteen day grace period during which you are allowed to make the payment without being charged a late fee, but for the most part, if they don't have it in their hands by the first, it is not paid when due.
