Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Mother Co-Signed for Three Vehicles

My Mother Co-Signed for three vehicles for my Brother. My Brother defaulted on the 1st loan and had the motorcycle repossessed. I'm not sure what the loan company has done with the motorcycle but they continue to harass my Mother. Additionally, my Brother is continually late with the other loan payments. My Mother is on Social Security and has no other source of income. She does own her home and has approximately 30K in savings. What can my Mother do to protect her assets. She is extremely upset over this. Should she consider bankruptcy?

Re: Mother Co-Signed for Three Vehicles

Not necessarily, but perhaps. It depends on so many facts. I am willing to discuss this over the phone with your mother if she would like. I provide free initial consultations and, unlike any postings on the internet, a phone conversation is private.
