Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

My mother resides in the state of California. She is terminally ill, does not own any real property, has made me beneficiary of 2 small life insurance policies and I am a co-signer on her only checking account. She does not have a will and is widowed. Question - She has credit card debt of which she is the only cardholder. Who if anyone, is responsible for her debt under California law?
