Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

mr. jordan isnt that what the garnishment hearing is about to decide the payment of the debt. or do i have to specify in that hearing, i dont want them to go after any other way to get money from me. they already have a lien on my home, and now a garnishment order. my total debt is only 12 grand, which includes a judgment of 9 grand, bankrupcy isnt an option. i just dont want them taking everything i own, over a medical bill.

The garnishment hearing is used to find out what assets you have so the creditor can attach or lien it. You also have certain exemptions available to you, which hopefully you are claiming.

You should try to negotiate a payment plan with the creditor, if bankruptcy is not an option.
