Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Notice of Levy

I received a notice of levy from the OC sheriff's dept and have no idea what it is about. I have never received any type of notice or document from any court. Most of my credit cards are paid up, and I have no overdue or outstanding bills that I know of. How can I find out about this levy?

Re: Notice of Levy

There should be a case number on the notice of levy. Go to the Orange County Superior Court website and look up the number (or your name), and see what comes up. Then contact the attorney if there's a mistake of some sort. You might also retain an attorney of your own to attempt to aside the judgment so that you can have your day in court.
