NSF Check

I wrote a check to a person and he came back and told me that the check was a NSF and he said that hes going to the police so they can have me arrested can he really do that? That happend in orange county california

Passing bad checks can be prosecuted, but the chances of the police arresting you is very remote. Most district attorney's won't prosecute this type of crime, although they may "encourage" you to replace the NSF check.
