Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

overpayment by employer

A friend of mine was overpaid (approximately $1000.00) by a temp agency. After termination of the temp contract, and beginning full-time employment at the agency where she was placed, she was contacted by the temp agency, which claims to have overpaid her. What is my friend's legal obligation to repay this money? Can the temp agency sue for this money if she doesn't?

If she was overpaid, she has an obligation to repay it. She should make arrangements with the temp agency to pay back over time, lest she get sued for the money.
