Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

I owe child support and alot of it i haven't paid in years because i was homeless for years and when i wasn't homeless i was struggling just to eat. There is a warrant for my arrest for child support is there any way I can get on a court calendar without going to jail I want to make it right I want to make this right and have moved back to the area to do so any suggestions Please I'm scared i don't want to go to prison!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111111

I can't predict what the court will do, but number one, the unemployment rate is 20% and they don't have enough jails for all the unemployed Dads; and two, if you were to be sent to jail you would be segregated from inmates accused or convicted of crimes, which might make any stay there slightly less unpleasant. You could also try making a modest payment, or doing something to demonstrate that you are out there looking for one of those very-difficult-to-find jobs. It would be helpful, for sure, if you were to collect several bags of aluminum beverage cans; bring the receipts to court.
