Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Do parents have liability for an adult child's (age 47) medical bills in California? The adult child has been living in their home for the past year due to financial distress. He has been in the hospital for the past three weeks with no insurance after having spent three weeks in the hospital earlier in the year. He had planned on filing for bankruptcy, but had to clear up another legal matter first. I know California law may require an adult child to pay for their parent's medical bills, but don't know if the reverse situation exists.

No, unless they signed to personally guarantee payment like a co-signer on a loan.

Mr. Starrett is absolutely correct.

Also, I am not aware of any law in California that requires an adult child to pay for their parent's medical bills.
