parking ticket collection

I got two parking tickets in 1996. In 1997, the car

on which the tickets were issued was totaled by

my insurance carrier after an accident. They paid

off my car loan and took possession of the car.

Doesn't the legal responsibility for the parking

violations incurred on that car go with the car?

Does the responsibility for those tickets stay with

me or go with the car?
