Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Partial Payments

I made partial payments on my home loan because of a rate increase. The mortgage company did not credit the payment until the next month when the next payment was received and the increase difference was made up. I have been reported as 30 days late to the cra because of it. I am trying to correct this on my credit report with no success. What can I do?

Re: Partial Payments

Keep trying. If you were not late and you have documentation to support this, you should send it to your mortgage company to get a letter from them to submit to the credit agencies. Once this bell is rung it is difficult to unring. Alternatively, you can hire a lawyer to write letters on your behalf which is given more attention and propels the process.
