Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Pay Day Loans

I unfortunately got caught up in the vicious cyle of several online payday loans which I want to clear up and pay off, in installments. Some insist that I pay off loans in full by a certain date or they will have their attorneys start legal procedures, and have already called my job to harass my payroll dept. -- Can they do this? Even if I've tried to work out an installment arrangement? What are my alternatives? I don't have cash to pay them all off at once...

Re: Pay Day Loans

payday loans, like alot of credit "lenders", tend to bait persons like yourself into getting far over there heads in debt. its a very unscrupulous industry often times to say the least, so do not feel you are alone in feeling victimized. however, you can definitely "combat" this situation legally and effectively. the 3rd party collectors contacting your employer without your consent are in clear violation of the FDCPA, which is actionable in civil court and/or thru the FTC or attorney general's office. such illegal conduct can be the basis for legitimate offsets on what your creditor "claims" you owe them to date. the best route we recommend is retaining a law firm, like ourselves, that specializes in this type of consumer debt law. this way you WILL get justice and most likely only end up paying pennies on the dollar of what is allegedly owed by you thru top notch, professional settlement negotiations. if you would like further assistance in this matter, contact us directly today.
