You can use almost any type of attorney, because you have a simple case in which you probablyare not going to collect anything. Has the business closed down also? There is a four year statutute of limitations on a written contract and two on an oral one, unless the other person does something to renew the debt, by saying they will repay it, etc. You can contact an attorney who handles debt collection cases.

Please act quickly as the statute of limitations for an oral contract is two years. A written contract is four years. Please have an attorney review any and all writings including the instrument used to transfer the funds so as to attempt to bring the matter into the four year statute, Contact me directly.

If he entered into an agreement with you while living in CT, the CT statute of limitation might apply. You might repost for a CT attorney.
