Re: phone bill
In addition to the amount of the phone bill, you could also seek monetary damages for the cost of prematurely terminating the service. The problem probably will be getting her to pay you once you get a judgment. Judgments are good for 10 years, and may be renewed for another 10.
Re: phone bill
First, pay the bill so it doesn't affect your credit. Second, (and you can do this in whatever order you wish), cancel the phone. Third, send "friend" a letter demanding repayment of whatever you have to spend to completely pay off the phone balance (might have to wait until you get the final phone bill). Fourth, if she doesn't pay, go file a small claims court action. Your agreement to provide her a phone on your credit and name was arguably contingent upon her paying the bill on time. When she has now failed to do so, she has breached the agreement, and you should in turn get the phone turned off.
