Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California
I have a problem with a finance company. I want to pay off the account. I have made 3 payments in the billing period. They will not accept a fourth. Because they say they have a three payment limit per billing period. I have looked over the contract and also the web site and I see NOTHING on a number of payment limit..
Here is my question. I seem to remember from my schooling that if a person that has money owed to him that if he refuses payment on the loan being offered legal tinder. that the one who owes the money can consider the loan paid?
I am NOT trying to get out of paying the loan but they are asking for payment but I am over the 3 payment during the bill period. The payment are refused becaust of that.
Any suggestions.
In my 64 years this is the FIRST time that I have had a payment refused

If they are correct, it would be in their written agreement with you. Ask for it. Ask them to prove it. They may be correct, since it requires more of their office staff time, but it does seem very strange that they would not accpet the money. You are probably wrong about considreing the loan paid if they refuse a payment.
Why not just wait until the next billing cycle and pay off the loan?
