Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California
I am having problems with an Attorney trying to levy my bank account for an old credit card debt.
I received word that a levy had been placed against me at Chase bank. I have never banked at Chase bank. Does that mean the attorney for the collection will have to file again to try to find my bank?

If you've never banked at Chase or any of the banks it has acquired over the years, then you don't have to worry about levies against a Chase account. However, you indicate that there's a judgment against you for the credit card debt, and it's possible the creditor might locate other assets and levy against them, as well as your paycheck, if any. It could also set a debtor's examination to ask you under oath about your accounts, work, and assets.
